2. Overview

AILector is designed with privacy as a core principle. The App works primarily offline and does not require user registration or account creation. No personal identity data is requested or stored by the App.

  • No names, emails, or contact details
  • No account credentials
  • No location data
  • No contacts or phone data
  • No persistent device identifiers
  • No analytics or tracking information

4. User-Provided Content Processing

The App offers optional AI-powered tools such as summaries, explanations, translations, and question answering.

When you intentionally use these features:

  • Selected text from your eBook is transmitted to external AI servers.
  • Only the specific text you choose is sent.
  • The App does not store or log this content after processing.
  • No data is transmitted unless you explicitly trigger an AI feature.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Art. 6)

Processing is based on user consent. By selecting text and requesting AI processing, you explicitly request transmission of that content for processing.

You may withdraw consent at any time by simply not using AI features.

6. Nature of Data Processed

The App processes only text content selected by the user. This content typically consists of book passages and is not intended to contain personal data.

If a user chooses to submit personal or sensitive information within selected text, that submission is voluntary and initiated by the user.

7. Third-Party Processors

AI processing is performed by external service providers. These providers receive only the text necessary to generate results and process it on secure infrastructure.

These providers may temporarily process submitted text for:

  • Generating responses
  • Security monitoring
  • Abuse prevention

Processing by third parties is governed by their respective privacy policies and legal obligations.

8. International Data Transfers

AI providers may operate servers outside your country of residence. When data is transferred internationally, safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent legal mechanisms may be used to ensure lawful protection of data.

9. Data Retention

The App itself does not retain submitted text or AI responses on external servers. Processing is temporary and limited to generating requested output.

10. Data Security

All communications between the App and external services are encrypted using secure protocols (HTTPS/TLS). Industry-standard security measures are used to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration of transmitted content.

11. Automated Decision-Making

The App does not perform automated decision-making that produces legal or significant effects concerning users as defined under GDPR Article 22.

Under applicable data protection law, users may have rights including:

Since the App does not store personal data, most requests can be fulfilled immediately because no retained data exists.
